WATER FILTERS
I recommend the use of a shower-head water filter at home. It will help eliminate chlorine and heavy metals from the water that are harmfull to
your skin and hair. Tap water sometimes has as much chlorine as pool water. You can purchase one of these easy to attach filters at your local
hardware store for around $25 dollars. Refill cartridges sell for about 16 dollars, and we recomend that you change the filter every 3 months

DEMINERALIZING TREATMENT
Is an enzyme based product designed to remove chlorine and hard water minerals. It removes the green tint caused by swimming pools and the
orange caused by well water. I recommend you have this treatment prior to all chemical services. This treatment takes approximately
35 minutes. I also recommend a home maintenance kit by Malibu 2000 for those of you who swim often or have well water. The kit consists of
a 9 oz shampoo, a 9 oz conditioner and a 9 oz demineralizer available at the salon and is sulfate free.
CONDITIONING TREATMENTS
I offer three different types of conditioning treatments. First a protein based treatment for brittle color/bleached hair.
Second, I have a moisture based treatment for dry depleated hair. Lastly, I have a combination of both protein and moisture
that stablizes and strengthens the hair at the same time. These treatments require a minimum of 10 minutes under a heat cap, not a dryer.
IONS
I usually don't notice ions but they are all around us. Ions are simply atoms that have gained or lost an electron and so bear a charge of energy.
Those that have gained an electron are called negative ions, while those that have lost an electron are called positive ions. The electrostatic force
of ions causes opposites to attract and similarly charged particles to repel each other. I stongly recommend the use of ionic products such
as: ionic blow dryers, flat irons and round brushes. These tools help eliminate frizz and add shine.
SULFATES
This inexpensive detergent is commonly used in cosmetic cleansers, hair shampoos, bath and shower gels, bubble baths, etc. It is probably
the most dangerous ingredient used in skin and hair-care products because it may cause hair loss by attacking the follicle. It is classified as a drug
in bubble baths because it eats away skin protection and causes rashes and infection to occur. Sulfates are potentially harmful to skin and hair because
they clean by corrosion. It dries skin by stripping the protective lipids from the surface so it can't effectively regulate moisture. Some of the side
effects include: eye and scalp irritation, tangled hair, swelling of hands, face and arms, and split and fuzzy hair. It is best to use skin and hair-care
products that are Sulfate Free.
